The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) are seeking candidates for one full-time or part-time faculty position at the rank of Acting Assistant Professor. Acting Assistant Professor appointments are for one year, renewable up to a maximum of four years, consistent with university policy.
Anticipated Start Date: September 2025 – January 2026
Job Duties:
Provide clinical care as an attending psychiatrist at UW Medical Center (UWMC) or Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with a primary focus on Neuromodulation services.
Contribute to program development, training, and scholarship in Neuromodulation.
Take call responsibilities commensurate with other clinically active faculty in the Department.
Teach and supervise trainees as appropriate and in conjunction with your clinical and research activities.
You may have other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair or Service Chief by mutual agreement.
Salary:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Base salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Base salary range for an Acting Assistant Professor position will be $17,500 - $22,084 per month ($210,000 - $265,008 annually).
Qualifications
An M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent, current medical licensure, and eligibility for a Washington State medical license.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
