The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) are seeking candidates for one full-time or part-time faculty position at the rank of Acting Assistant Professor. Acting Assistant Professor appointments are for one year, renewable up to a maximum of four years, consistent with university policy.
Anticipated Start Date: September 2025 – January 2026
Job Duties:
  • Provide clinical care as an attending psychiatrist at UW Medical Center (UWMC) or Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with a primary focus on Neuromodulation services.
  • Contribute to program development, training, and scholarship in Neuromodulation.
  • Take call responsibilities commensurate with other clinically active faculty in the Department.
  • Teach and supervise trainees as appropriate and in conjunction with your clinical and research activities.
  • You may have other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair or Service Chief by mutual agreement.
Salary:
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Base salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
  • Base salary range for an Acting Assistant Professor position will be $17,500 - $22,084 per month ($210,000 - $265,008 annually).
Qualifications
  • An M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent, current medical licensure, and eligibility for a Washington State medical license.
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
