The ISEN Annual Meeting brings together clinicians, researchers, and mental health professionals from around the world to share the latest advances, research, and best practices in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). ISEN ECT Course

ISEN Distinguished Fellows Program

ISEN’s highest honor, awarded to members with 20+ years of extraordinary service to the field of ECT and neurostimulation and sustained contributions to ISEN and the broader professional community.

*Awards must be received in person at the ISEN Annual Meeting.

Distinguished Fellows receive:

  • Recognition at the Annual Meeting Induction Ceremony
  • Exclusive networking opportunities and advisory roles
  • Permanent profile on the ISEN website
  • Complimentary access to ISEN webinars

Eligibility: Applicants must have at least 20 years of experience in the field of ECT and neurostimulation, be ISEN members in good standing for 10+ years, and have attended at least six Annual Meetings.

ISEN Fellows Program

This honorary designation recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to ISEN and significant contributions to the advancement of ECT and neurostimulation.

*Awards must be received in person at the ISEN Annual Meeting.

  • Special Fellows-only networking event
  • Dedicated web page listing and certificate of recognition
  • Opportunities to mentor early-career professionals and participate in ISEN initiatives

Eligibility: Open to dues-paying ISEN members in good standing for at least five years who have attended at least three Annual Meetings.

Travel Trainee Award

Annual Meeting 2027 (Coming Soon)

The International Society of ECT and Neurostimulation is pleased to offer Travel Trainee Award Scholarships to eligible attendees who demonstrate interest in the field of neuromodulation. The Travel Trainee Award offers an opportunity to attend an outstanding scientific program and interact with internationally distinguished researchers and scientists in the field of ECT and neuromodulation. This award can be used to offset travel costs associated with attending the conference, including airfare, hotel, & ground transportation.

Eligibility:

  • Selections will be made based on strength of the personal statement, letter of recommendation and need for travel funding
  • To receive the travel award, winners are expected to attend the entire meeting, be present for the recognition event, and participate in the ISEN mentor/mentee program
  • Previous Travel Awardees are not eligible to apply
  • Trainee Award: medical student, fellow, post-doctoral fellow, resident
  • $1,000 for travel expenses to the ISEN Annual Meeting
  • Annual Meeting registration
  • A one-year ISEN membership

Procedure For Application:

Applicants must submit a complete application packet, which includes:

  • Application form
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
  • At Least One Letter of Recommendation highlighting the applicant's interest in ECT and neurostimulation
  • Personal Statement (maximum 250 words) explaining the applicant's motivation for attending the ISEN Annual Meeting and how it aligns with their professional goals
  • At least one Poster Abstract Submission to be presented during the Annual Meeting Poster Session if selected.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. 
  • All application materials must be submitted via the online form:

Award Notification:

  • Award recipients will be notified by email
  • Applicants chosen for an award must confirm that they will attend the meeting within one week of notification of selection
  • Awardees who are selected and accepted but are unable to attend the full ISEN meeting will forfeit the award
  • The award will be presented at the Society's Annual Meeting

Mary Rosedale Award

The Mary Rosedale Patient Advocacy Award was established in 2017 in honor of Mary Rosedale, a champion for those working in the field of brain stimulation and an advocate for patients receiving ECT and other brain stimulation treatment and their families.This award seeks to recognize those who have advocated for patients and / or have worked to educate the public about brain stimulation and have worked to decrease stigma associated with chronic mental illness.

Criteria for selection:

  • Someone who has advocated for patients, challenged the status quo, educated the public and / or effected change within health care systems to improve care for patients receiving brain stimulation.
  • Someone who has been a role model for those entering the field of brain stimulation, training the next generation of care providers and / or someone who has increased public awareness related to brain stimulation therapies and effects and strived to decrease stigma for those seeking care.

Award Notification:

  • Award recipients will be notified by email
  • Applicants chosen for an award must confirm that they will attend the meeting within one week of notification of selection 
  • The award will be presented at the Society's Annual Meeting
